Dear Fellow Tongzhis:
Happy new year!
I hope each of you had a wonderful 2002. On behalf of CRA, I wish to sincerely
thank Richard K., the board members, and the events helpers for making last
year a success for our organization. And of course, I thank all our members and
friends for supporting and participating in our activities.
The new year should continue our diverse efforts. In fact, we have more board
members to serve you. This new board is consisted of Richard, Steve, LZ,
Harris, Charles, Andy, Tony, Denny, and myself. However we are still looking
for new volunteers who like to help, serve, and get
personal rewards, i.e.., fun and a sense of satisfaction for promoting our
cause. Please be reminded that our board meetings are open to all members. They
are usually held just before our events. For instance, if our social party
starts at 7 pm, our board meeting will be at 6 pm at the same location. Please
do show up and tell us your ideas, comments, or even complaints. That
is one way we know if the board is serving the members right, and how we can
improve the organization.
Our first event of the Year of the Ram is the Chinese New Year Banquet. It will
be in the evening of Saturday, Feb. 22. Please mark your calendar now and save
that date! We will have a multi-course authentic Chinese dinner as in the past
years. Be sure to come and wish your fellow tongzhis a happy new year and have
a great feast and play fun Chinese new year games afterwards. Please check our
website for details of this upcoming event.
Meanwhile, please remember our organization is here for you. Your board members
are here to serve and support you in many ways. If you ever need service (like
a letter of recommendation or an affidavit) or emotional support, please do not
hesitate to call on us. The famous Chinese proverb goes, "When you are at home,
your depend on your family. When you are out of your home, you depend on your
friends." We, the CRA members, are your friends, and we are all members of "the
Chinese Rainbow Family."
Have a happy, healthy, and prosperous Year of the Ram!
